Couples can visit any New Hampshire town or city hall together to apply for their marriage license up to 90 days before the wedding. For many couples, this visit becomes a surprisingly sweet milestone — a small but meaningful step that makes everything feel real.

When you apply, you’ll be asked a few practical questions, including the birthplaces of your parents and whether either of you plans to change your name after marriage. Your license is valid for 90 days, giving you flexibility while keeping your planning timeline clear.
